Welcome to MCAS
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Medicare College of Applied Sciences, a school that offers excellent tuition in Allied Health Programmes and medical research. The school is located at the heart of the Garden City, Kumasi.
We believe that though useful, theoretical tuition has limited benefits as graduates are usually not well prepared for work in practical environments such as hospitals and industry simply because they have limited practical knowledge. Such graduates are usually less productive in the work environment and would have the need for on-the-job training.
For the reason adduced above, we of Medicare College of Applied Sciences have it as a policy to place more emphasis on practical training of our students. For this reason, we have in place well equipped laboratories with all the necessary provisions that makes practical study a pleasure. We thus expect our students to come out well motivated and ready to for the job market.

About Us
History
Medicare College of Applied Sciences began as a private diagnostics laboratory, Medicare Research Centre (MRC) in 1995. In 1996 MRC commenced the training of laboratory assistants. All trainees were highly motivated because of the excellent practical tuition MRC provided. Today, many of them are gainfully employed in public and private clinics and hospitals in Ghana, with some efficiently managing hospital laboratories.
In October, 2010, Medicare College of Applied Sciences was instituted to initiate the training of diploma-certified Medical Laboratory Technology personnel.
